Easy Stitch Selection & Multiple Functions
The Brother LS2125 comes with 10 built-in stitches and offers 25 stitch functions. From zig-zag to elastic, blind hem, straight and satin, this machine provides you with all of the stitch functions you need.
In addition to the built-in stitches, the LS2125 also features a 4-step buttonholer, so you can easily add buttons to your garments.
Stitches are easy to select using the built-in dial. All of the stitches are clearly labeled on the front of the machine, so you can quickly and easily find and select the one you need.
Easy Threading and Preset Stitch Sizes
Threading is a breeze with this machine. The included manual offers detailed instructions on how to thread the machine, and the vertical quick-set bobbin makes it easy to start sewing right away.
With this model, the length and width are already preset, and cannot be adjusted. In reality, stitch length and width adjustments are really only necessary when completing advanced sewing projects or quilting, which isn’t what this machine was designed for. For basic garment construction, repairs and hemming, the preset length and width settings are actually convenient.
Aside from stitch selection, the only other adjustment available on this machine is thread tension, which is also controlled via a dial.
Quick-Change Presser Feet & Free-Arm Design
Need to change presser feet? No problem! The LS2125 uses snap-on presser feet, which can be removed and attached with one simple step. This machine comes with 4 presser feet as well as a 4-step buttonholer.
If you plan on hemming pants or sewing in collars and cuffs, you’ll appreciate this machine’s free-arm option.
A Great Sewing Machine for Kids and Beginners
If you’re just getting started with sewing or are teaching your child how to sew, the Brother LS2125 is a great option. It’s affordable, it comes with more-than-enough stitches, it’s lightweight, and easily portable. It also comes with some of the great features that sewers look for, like tension control, a work light, free-arm, multiple presser feet and buttonholers.
While this machine may not be capable of heavy-duty sewing or quilting, it can handle most sewing projects with precision and ease. From basic garment construction to repairs, hemming and more, you’ll breeze through your sewing projects thanks to the many convenient features this machine has to offer. The easy threading system, automatic buttonholer and vertical quick-set bobbin allow you to go from set-up to sewing in minutes.
From unboxing to first use, this machine was a pleasure to use. We’ve completed several projects on this machine and never ran into any snags. Is it a perfect machine? No, but no machine is. For beginners and kids, it’s a great model that will give you plenty of use if you care for it properly.

- Convenient features, like an automatic buttonholer, and preset stitch width and length
- Multiple stitches and functions (10 and 25 respectively)
- Easy stitch selection and tension adjustment with clear stitch labeling
- Backed by a 25-year limited warranty
- Built-in work light makes it easy to see what you’re doing

- Thread tension takes some getting used to
If you search for reviews of this machine, you’ll find some people complaining about tension problems. Personally, I never experienced this issue, but it is possible that these users simply weren’t choosing the right tension for the project. Different machines behave differently, especially when it comes to tension. Be patient, and you’re sure to find the proper tension setting for your project.
I also wanted to note that this machine is not suitable for heavy-duty sewing. If you’re looking for a machine that can tackle more difficult, complex projects, consider investing in a heavy-duty machine – not a beginner one.
Overall, the Brother LS2125 is a great basic sewing machine that can tackle most everyday sewing projects. It’s easy to use, lightweight and easily portable. If you’re just getting started or looking for a simple machine for easy repair projects, we highly recommend the LS2125.
